Why is exercise important?

The emerging field of exercise oncology has presented a lot of research to support the benefits of exercise during cancer treatment and recovery.

At Balanced Bodies, our Cancer Rehab Programs are completely individualised to each person to account for your treatment status, disease stage, functional capacity, physical limitations, exercise history and preferences.

Exercise can help to improve:

Strength and endurance

Energy levels

Physical function and range of motion

Immune function

Side effects of treatment

Cardiorespiratory fitness

Regular exercise can also help to decrease the chance of cancer reoccurrence.

This is a specialised area of exercise physiology that Director & Exercise Physiologist Anna Moule has taken a particular interest in and undertaken further study and courses to stay up to date.
